Personalize Your Planner - Weekly View

On Tuesday I shared my blog post on personalizing the monthly view of your planner.  Now I'm excited to share this post on how to personalize the weekly view!  Grab your supplies and personalize along with me!

I've already decorated a few weeks in my planner so I flipped to my first blank layout.  Here's what we're starting with:

To decorate this page I'll be using scrapbook paper, washi tape, and stickers.  But feel free to use whatever you have on hand!  I found the washi tape sticker sheet and stickers at Dollar Tree.  I'm a sucker for both and the Dollar Tree near me usually has a neat selection.

Bonus!  The washi tape pack comes with two sheets!

I picked one of the washi tape patterns to use as a boarder between the boxes and the lines at the bottom.  Since I don't really use the lines at the moment I don't mind cover a few of them up.  But if you use them you can choose a thinner washi.

Next up: scrapbook paper!  Remember the Mambi Scrapbook Kit I used for the monthly view?  I grabbed a sheet of paper from there!  I cut a piece that would fit as a border between the boxes and the "weekly goals & notes" section on the side.  I'm all about borders!  They add a touch of flair without getting in the way of valuable space.

My border covered up a little of the month at a glance on the side.  So I decided to grab a square sticker to cover it up!  Look familiar?  These stickers are also from the Mambi kit!

Take a look at your work so far!  It's already looking great!

I don't know about you guys but I don't use the "morning, day, and night" sections of my Erin Condren planner.  It just doesn't fit my lifestyle at the moment.  I also don't like the idea of leaving them there but ignoring them.  So time to cover them up!  I bought a pack of Avery all purpose labels from Walmart.  It cost me less than $2 and it has 525 labels!

Now I could just stick them over the titles and call it a day.  But that would be boring!  So I decided to line the edges in pink to make them more decorative.  I just grabbed a marker and lined the edges.  It's a little time consuming but, in my opinion, totally worth it.

Can't forget about the stickers!  Just place them randomly around the pages.  Make sure you aren't covering up the space you'll be using.  I like to put them at the corners and edges of the boxes.  Covering them up a little is fine but I don't want to cover them entirely.  And that's it!  Take a look at your finished layout!

Personalize Your planner - Monthly View

Last week I showed you guys my Erin Condren Life Planner!  Some of you were curious as to how I decorated and personalized my planner so I decided to do a tutorial.  So grab your planner (even if it isn't Erin Condren) and let's get started!

For this tutorial I will be decorated my monthly view for May!  April is almost over and I hadn't personalized May yet - so we better get started.  Here's what we're starting with:

It really is beautiful on it's own!  So if you want an Erin Condren planner without having to spend time decorating it this is what you'd see.  Still very lovely!  But I'm constantly crafting so why not spice up my planner too?

To get started I grabbed my supplies!  I like to use scrapbook paper, washi tape, and stickers but feel free to grab whatever you have on hand.

For May I'll be using this scrapbook kit I picked up a while back.  I can't remember exactly where I got it but you can find them at most craft stores.  I love these kits!  They come with scrapbook paper, stickers, and other embellishments.  As you can see I've already used some of the stickers.  I used this same kit to decorate for April.

I also dug through my washi tape stash and picked a cute polka dot pattern!  Throw in some other stickers from my stash and I was ready to go.

First step was to put in the scrapbook paper.  I used that to cover up the April dates I won't be using.  I just measured out the space I was going to cover and grabbed my paper cutter.  I used double sided tape to stick it in but you could also glue it down.

Next up: washi tape!  I used this to create a boarder between the calendar and the notes section.  Did you spot my white out mark?  I wrote something in it before I decided to decorate it and the washi tape was going to cover part of it so I just took some white out to it.

Next up: stickers!  I didn't use a lot since I didn't want to cover up valuable planning space but I really like the way the look.  So I just picked a few!

Things will look a lot neater if you stay with a certain feel and color scheme.  That's why things like the Mambi scrapbook kit are so helpful.  But they're certainly not necessary.  Use your best judgement and go with what appeals to you!  It's your planner so make it your own.

The back of the planner has stickers to mark birthdays, appointments, vacations, and more as well as having two sheets of colored blank stickers for you to fill in yourself!  I used the pink blank stickers to mark when my rent and credit card bill are due

Ready to take a look at the finished product??

Beautiful!  Next I'll go through with my different colored pens to mark everything I have going on in May!

If you haven't gotten your own Erin Condren planner I highly recommend it!  And you can get $10 off your first purchase when you sign up here!

I'd love to see pictures of your planners!

My Erin Condren Planner!

Okay guys it's official!  I am the proud owner of an Erin Condren Life Planner!  And I couldn't be happier.  Have you seen them?  They are truly spectacular and I highly recommend them.  Since i'm so obsessed I wanted to share mine with you!

There are so many covers to choose from!  But no worries - these planners now come with interchangeable covers so you can order a few and switch them up!  I went with a Candy Lace cover.  Isn't it beautiful??

So when you open up my planner this is what you see!  On the right I've created and inserted my own dashboard to keep post its and tabs and such.  I plan to add a few other things to it but here it is so far.  On the left I'll add my personal info - name, phone number, address - so if I ever leave my planner anywhere it will be able to find its way back to me!

I just love how beautiful this planner is!

Okay now let's get to the good part - the actual planner!!  Here's what my month view for April looks like.  Equipped with scrapbook paper, washi tape, and stickers I decorated and personalized the month of April.  Then I went through with colored pens and filled in my schedule.  Take a look:

I'm over the moon with joy!  I find myself opening it up just to look at it.  This is my first month with the planner so I'm still doing some tweaking but overall I think I've found a really great system.  Plus I love how decorative it is.

Next I took my supplies to the weekly view.  The weekly view is split into three sections: morning, day, and night.  This would have been very helpful in college but I don't find it very useful at this point of my life.  So I re-categorized them with a system that works for me.  Now i have it split into schedule, business, and to-do.  They're pretty self explanatory.  "Schedule" contains appointments, work schedule, events, etc.  "Business" contains anything dealing with Crafted By Corley and my new venture as a Jamberry Nails Consultant (blog posts, follow ups, etc).  "To-Do" is exactly what it sounds like - my list of (non-business) things I need to accomplish that day.

And I still have plenty of space on my weekly spread for other things!  I use the left side for things I need to accomplish that week but don't need to be done on a certain day.  I haven't decided what to use the bottom lines for.  But it's nice to know that I have a spot should I think of anything!

At the back of the planner there is also a lined and un-lined notes section - stickers to mark birthdays, appointments, vacation, and more - a pocket page - a removable perpetual calendar to mark birthdays, anniversaries, and other annual events - and a clear ziplock pouch.  This planner does it all!
