Let's Plan It! - August 2015

Alright everyone!  I am officially obsessed with my Erin Condren Life Planner and I know I'm not the only one.  Now that I've had my planner for a few months I've completely changed the way I organize and decorate.  So I decided I'd share it with all of you!  Ready?  Let's plan it!

I've recently added a TON of different stickers to my Etsy Shop!  (Thank you all so much for your constant support on these.  I was not expecting them to do so well and I cannot thank you all enough.)  I use these stickers when I sit down and decorate/organize my planner each month.  Alright - let's get to the pictures!
First things first - gather your supplies!  Whether you have stickers and accessories from Erin Condren, my Etsy shop, another shop, or a combination of places you'll want to gather them all in the same place.  I like to use stickers from my shop, Avery all-purpose labels, stamp markers, and a blue pen.  I used to use multi colored pens to color coordinate everything but I found the colors made the planner look sloppy.  So now I stick to just blue!
(I am using the August Mega Monthly Sticker Kit from my Etsy shop)
Let's start with the month view.  I use the stickers that come in the back of the planner for keeping track of birthdays.  And, of course, I choose the colors that go with that month!
Included in the August Mega Monthly Sticker Kit are 8 decorative box stickers that fit inside of the monthly view boxes.  I like to use them inside of the boxes that aren't part of that month.  For example: I covered up the July dates on the August monthly spread.
I like to use the circular bill icon stickers and my pay day stickers on the monthly view.  This is just to let me get a glimpse of everything on the monthly view, and I use the more specific bill stickers in the weekly spread.
Another sticker set that really comes in handy for me is my Direct Sales Sticker Kit!  I am a direct sales independent consultant with Jamberry Nails and my Erin Condren planner has become a wonderful asset for me with this business.  I like to use one of my "PRV, TRV, DRV" stickers at the bottom of the "notes" section on my monthly spread so I can fill it out on the last day of the month and see how my sales were.
Now let's head to the weekly spread.
As I said, I'm an independent consultant with Jamberry Nails.  To help me keep track of my customer followups and facebook posts I created a weekly side bar sticker set!  It has been a huge help.  So to start off I stick one of those to the side of my planner.
There are a lot of "To Do" box stickers included in the kit and I love them!  I like to stick them on the bottom box so I can keep track of everything I need to accomplish that day.
Another thing that really helps my Jamberry business are the rectangle sticker mini sheets.  Each day I like to complete one activity that will help grow my business.  I use these rectangle stickers to keep track of those goals/activities :)  I place them over the header for the middle box since I don't use the "morning," "day," and "night" headers anyway.
And we can't forget about the weekends!!
Then I need to cover up the "morning" headers.  I use a stamp marker to color the edge of an Avery all-purpose label (1/2" x 3/4") and stick it on!  You obviously don't have to take the extra step of coloring the edge but I love the way it looks.  Just run the side of your marker along the edge of the label!
For birthday's I use my blank tag stickers to cover up the "morning" header for that day.
And, like I said, I like to use the bill pay flag stickers on my weekly spread.  That way I can see how much is due and can check it off once I've paid it.
These hydrate stickers are not from the Monthly Mega Kit.  They are the regular Keep Hydrated Water Tracker Stickers I have available in my shop.  But there are water tracker stickers included in the mega kit.
The meal planning coil inserts are wonderful!  They fit perfectly inside the coils of the Erin Condren planner and are great for keeping track of meals/snacks for each day and a shopping list for the week!  And the backside is blank for adding any additional notes/thoughts.
I also like to use a "PRV, TRV, DRV" sticker on each Sunday so I can see how my sales progressed each week.
And I still have stickers left over to decorate when inspiration strikes!  As I do laundry (or plan to do laundry) I use the stickers included in the mega kit to keep track of when I sort, wash, and put away everything.  And the cute owl, heart, and flower stickers will get added as I feel the need to decorate throughout the month.
And lets not forget about the weather!  Every Sunday night I sit down and place the stickers to keep track of the forecast for the week.  These stickers are not included in the Mega Kit but can be found in my Etsy shop - they are available as a bundle or as three separate listings for Sunny Skies, Rainy Days, and Snow Days!
Now all that's left to do is fill everything out!

Don't have an Erin Condren planner yet?  What are you waiting for?  These planners are seriously amazing!  I am in love with mine.  The best part is you can get $10 off your first planner!  Just head on over to the Erin Condren website and sign up to get your $10 off coupon

Personalize Your Planner - Weekly View

On Tuesday I shared my blog post on personalizing the monthly view of your planner.  Now I'm excited to share this post on how to personalize the weekly view!  Grab your supplies and personalize along with me!

I've already decorated a few weeks in my planner so I flipped to my first blank layout.  Here's what we're starting with:

To decorate this page I'll be using scrapbook paper, washi tape, and stickers.  But feel free to use whatever you have on hand!  I found the washi tape sticker sheet and stickers at Dollar Tree.  I'm a sucker for both and the Dollar Tree near me usually has a neat selection.

Bonus!  The washi tape pack comes with two sheets!

I picked one of the washi tape patterns to use as a boarder between the boxes and the lines at the bottom.  Since I don't really use the lines at the moment I don't mind cover a few of them up.  But if you use them you can choose a thinner washi.

Next up: scrapbook paper!  Remember the Mambi Scrapbook Kit I used for the monthly view?  I grabbed a sheet of paper from there!  I cut a piece that would fit as a border between the boxes and the "weekly goals & notes" section on the side.  I'm all about borders!  They add a touch of flair without getting in the way of valuable space.

My border covered up a little of the month at a glance on the side.  So I decided to grab a square sticker to cover it up!  Look familiar?  These stickers are also from the Mambi kit!

Take a look at your work so far!  It's already looking great!

I don't know about you guys but I don't use the "morning, day, and night" sections of my Erin Condren planner.  It just doesn't fit my lifestyle at the moment.  I also don't like the idea of leaving them there but ignoring them.  So time to cover them up!  I bought a pack of Avery all purpose labels from Walmart.  It cost me less than $2 and it has 525 labels!

Now I could just stick them over the titles and call it a day.  But that would be boring!  So I decided to line the edges in pink to make them more decorative.  I just grabbed a marker and lined the edges.  It's a little time consuming but, in my opinion, totally worth it.

Can't forget about the stickers!  Just place them randomly around the pages.  Make sure you aren't covering up the space you'll be using.  I like to put them at the corners and edges of the boxes.  Covering them up a little is fine but I don't want to cover them entirely.  And that's it!  Take a look at your finished layout!

Don't have an Erin Condren planner yet?  You need to get one!  When you sign up as a new customer you'll receive a coupon fro $10 off your first purchase.  Head over to the website and sign up now!
