Monthly Clean Home Challenge

Hey everyone!  Remember me?  I haven't been updating for a while.  And it's been even longer since I've done a post about something other than books (that's still going on but I haven't been updating).  But now this shall change!  Cause today I am super excited (probably more so than one should be) to talk about Spring Cleaning!

My favorite blogger - Jen from iHeartOrganizing - is doing a Monthly Clean Home Challenge.  And I have decided to hop on board :)

Basically the challenge is to do each daily task, each weekly task, and then add an additional task each day of the week.  Spreading out the tasks like this makes it much less overwhelming.  And I'm all about that.  Go check out her blog for some tips and free printables!  That's what I did.  And now I've taken all that information and created a list of things for myself.

Here's what I've created using her free printable.  (note: this link takes you to her blog post with the printable, it is not the printable itself)

This will get printed and put in a picture frame so I can use it as a dry erase checklist.  I'm very excited!

I took Jen's lists and adapted them to fit my needs/wants and I am very excited to start!

Anyone else interested in joining the challenge?

52 Books in 2014: 7/52

7/52 Books

So things have been really hectic around here.  We have officially entered tech week for our upcoming show (which I am costume designing) and we open this Thursday!  Crazy.  So my reading time has definitely dwindled.  In order to stay on track with my goal, last week I decided to count a children's book I read while I was babysitting.  This book was also one of my favorite books growing up and I had my parent's read it to me all the time:

And then this week I finished reading The Virgin's Lover

So now the plan is to keep moving along in the series!  So next up is: The Other Queen.  The last book in the series!

Books I've read so far:

The Constant Princess
by Philippa Gregory
The Other Boleyn Girl
by Philippa Gregory
The Boleyn Inheritance
by Philippa Gregory
Vinegar Tom
by Caryl Churchill

The Queen's Fool
by Philippa Gregory

Mike Mulligan and His Steam Shovel
by Virginia Lee Burton
The Virgin's Lover
by Philippa Gregory

52 Books in 2014: 5/52

5/52 Books

Keeping ahead of the game this week!  Okay, okay.  So that's only because I started this book last week and set it aside to read something else.  But I don't care!  I'm still ahead and that's what matters.

I finished reading The Queen's Fool by Philippa Gregory.  It was another great book in her Tudor Court Novel series.  I was a little disappointed that she didn't choose to write a book from Queen Mary's perspective.  Disappointed again that she decided to create a fictional character for this book instead.  But setting aside my disappointments, it was a wonderful read from start to finish.

Next up (unless I get distracted again): The Virgin's Lover by Philippa Gregory.  Moving along through the series!  It's almost done

Books I've read so far:
